:( :( :( :( :(

I'm not a happy camper! My coworker with their I Phones and Blackberrys have been jelious of my HTC EVO, that phone kicks tail, or at least it did. I generally carry my cell phone in a holster and it has a hard shell case and screen protector as well ...... but the problem occurred when an ATF line ruptured (the line suppling ATF to the shop not one on a car) and sprayed me with ATF (BTW for those who don't know ATF is Automatic Transmission Fluid) across my uniform pants and the lower part of my shirt. Keep in mind it was under some pressure. Well I cleaned myself off and grabbed another uniform and never noticed that it got my phone as well. There is a power port and a USB port on the bottom of the phone and it got a bunch of ATF inside the phone ... needless to say the phone has no display anymore. But the good news is I won't have to pay $599.99 to replace it, I got the protection plan with it but because it was a fluid intrusion that caused it there is a $100 deductible. But before going that route I will get ahold of one of the guys at church that works on phones for Sprint and see if he can fix it for less than the $100. ARGH!!! I'm not happy!!!

BTW I know some of you say why have a 600 flipping dollar phone ..... well it does quite a lot, I can use the GPS for directions, I have internet access almost anywhere I go, I can watch videos off youtube and other sites, it even has a digital and video camera and on both sides of the phone so you can even take pictures or video of yourself and do video conferencing. You would be amazed at the different things these things will do. I will give one word of warning besides don't let ATF spray into your phone and that is if you don't want one, never try one out because you'll never want to be without it!

Glad you had the protection plan! I get to go to the Apple store tomorrow to get my iPhone replaced. I wouldn't buy one of these gagets without the protection... Too many electrons to go haywire.

We don't have cell phones any longer. We only used them three of four times a month and that came to around $15 a call. So bye bye cell.

Smart move, but I will say that if you still have the actual phones and chargers keep them charged and in your vehicles. If you have to call 911 they will work even if you do not have a service. That way if you need it on the road you have it.

Speaking of which if you do not have the extended warranty you have nothing to loose...
Go to an electronics store and buy some pure Alcohol, (it's used in cleaning components do not get pressurized can as they can have stuff in with that will dissolve plastic) usually 16 oz and a small clean spray bottle....
Remove the phones back and battery....
wipe with a clean cloth removing any oil....
spray liberally and throughly with the Alcohol letting the excess run off into a trash can (caveat do in well ventilated room with no open flames in the area)...
Dry throughly with clean dry cloths and blow out with some canned "Dry Air' like they use for computer key boards....
Repeat...
Do same to battery pack...
Once completely dry put on charger and see what happens....:welcome:

Well the transmission fluid broke down some of the plastic inside the phone, had a guy that is a phone tech (works on HTC and I phones quite a bit) look at it today and said use the warranty and pay the 100 bucks, so its being overnighted and will be here tomorrow.

Well got my new phone, my wife brought it to me at work when the Fed Ex guy dropped it off. Now I just have to not break it till I can get a better protective case, had a Platnium Series case and it didn't cover the ports, OtterBox cases do so I'll find an OtterBox case for it. Yes folks that are not up on the latest things for cell phones, the hot ticket for protective cases is from a company called OtterBox LOL!

OtterBox cases are nice...I got one when I upgraded to a new phone last December. I wanted a Ballistic HC case but the OtterBox was free. I just wish it had the side ridges/bumps like my old Speck did (one reason I wanted the Ballistic HC)

LOL just brought home 2 Senior TrackFones. The numbers are big enough to see and I don't need to wonder what button I pushed. LOL Oh and they cast 14.98 each and then I added 60 minutes for 19.98 that are good for 90 days. Old phones were almost 30 per month and we only used them a couple times a month. OH and being a Sr phone you get double minutes. So it will be 120 minutes for 90 days.
