As most of you know by now a major hit from a tornado occurred in Joplin, Mo. yesterday. They say on the news that 25 to 30 % of the town has been wiped out. It hit the only hospital with the ability to handle major emergencies as well to the point that the hospital can not function at all. The folks in Joplin need our prayers, this is damage to a town from a single tornado and they are expecting more bad weather today as are folks from the OKC area following a line further northeast.
Just a suggestion, if you want to help think about donations to organizations like the "Red Cross" or "Salvation Army" that will be going into this area to help these people. Rather than buying some ammo with some cash I have set aside its going there.

My heart goes out to the people of Joplin. I'm next door in Illinois and have been through Joplin many times. I agree with Gmfixer. A contribution in lieu of a box of ammo is a great idea.

Grove and Miami, OK And I would expect Bentonville, AR Hospitals, who work closely with Joplin, would take injuries and refugees from Joplin's hospital. They are not as isolated as it sounds. NE Oklahoma's rural population also was hit hard. A trailer park in West Siloam Springs, OK was obliterated. No word yet of death or injury count. Hope they all bugged out for cover. Flint Ridge was hit again, the previous event in 2003.
