I am worried about my Dish and Cell service myself...not to mention the wireless network and "the Cloud"

We're supposed to have thunderstorms here for the next four or five days. Our cable has already started taking hits. I would imagine if there's serious solar flare issues the internet will be taking hits.

I talked with a HAM buddy tonight. He says the airwaves have been adversely affected by the solar problems. Still getting through in some bands; problems on others.

That was a "cry wolf" moment.

Not really...airlines rerouted, Ham radio was a bearcat to use. Sat comms took a minor hit.

I would sooner think that we dodged a bullet.

Luckily commo systems have such redundancy these days its easier to work around problems. Twenty-five years ago the majority of international communications were still carried out via HF. What was a minor inconvenience last week would have been a much bigger problem back then. I would imagine some of the major satellite systems were affected, requiring the users to switch to alternate frequencies - expensive.
