I've had a fascination with the .32 NAA and have often wondered what it would be like to have a Mustang .380 coupled to a 5" slide/barrel set up for the .32/380 "hybrid".
Interesting?

I've never heard of that wildcat. It seems there might be some merit to it. That is if there is sufficient case capacity. Thats one of the problems that always crop up when using small cases to begin with. I'd certainly be swayed by a nice Colt and I'm always up for some experimentation. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the mustang a blowback action? Wouldn't that create some difficulties as pressure increased?

The 32 NAA round is whats known as a propriteritary round. It is factory loaded but by select companies. It is true that bottle neck rounds and blow back actions don't get allong very well but the russians mananged it with thier 5.45x18 round. It would be a interesting if can be made to work through the colt mustang.

Yes, Cor-Bon Currently loads a nice hot version (the only commercially loaded version) of the cartridge. They're getting 1222 fps from the 2.5" barreled NAA Guardian with a 60-grain projectile.
60 gr (3.9 g) JHP 1,222 ft/s (372 m/s) 199 ft·lbf (270 J)

Before everyone gets too concerned about pressures and the ability of the case to contain them, consider the fact that the .32 NAA's parent case is the .380 ACP. This should set the everyone's mind at ease.
Speaking of cogitation, think of how the cartridge would have turned out if they had used a 9mm+P parent case for the exercise. Talk about POWER! A 100-grain ,312" JHP could easily reach 1500+ fps from the barrel of a 4.6" Glock Model 17.
Now we're cooking!
