Made my first attempt at C.A.R. shooting today... |

I made my first attempt at C.A.R. style shooting today (center axis relock).
I was able to keep 11 rounds in a 6 inch circle at 30 feet. Here is the kicker...it took less than 30 seconds to do and I was intentionally going slow to practice the unique cross dominant eye stance required.
Paul Castle was absolutely brilliant when he devised this method of ultra close quarters shooting and after a few more range sessions and lessons...I will feel comfortable to add this to my ever growing "bag o tricks"

Here is the target 11 shots at 30 feet inside of 30 seconds...using Center Axis Relock and non dominant shooting eye with both eyes open.
Pop...Pop (Confirming point of aim point of impact!)
pop,pop,pop (Practice)
pop,pop,pop (Practice)
pop,pop,pop (Practice)
It was fun and I will definitely be practicing this. It is brutally fast and combat effective for CQB drills.

NOTHING LIKE...It is a shooting style where you maintain a 90 degree angle to your target so you offer a smaller strike zone so to speak and keep the weapon back close to you body so it is not easily taken in close combat and turned against you. Google Paul Castle and if you watch any videos on youtube try only to watch those with him in them. I'll see if I can find the links...

I don't like CAR and find it is much less than optimum for me. We played with it at Ft Bragg way back and for most of us it was slower, less accurate, and standing sideways does not make you a smaller target. Too much to explain typing on my phone.
