Has anyone tried the new cf223 powder from hodgdon?. I shoot mostly 204 ruger, 22/250/ and 243. I have not been able to find any and was wondering if any one else has had any experience with it.

For smallbore rifles (.223) I use Hodgon's BLC-2 with great success. I have not tried the powder you inquire about. I know nothing of this Anti Copper Fouling additive nor feel the need for such. Sounds like a gimmick and might encourage negligence of proper cleaning regimens. Adding another chemical seems superfluous to me. And burn rate is nearly identical to BLC-2, being the next slower powder on Hodgdon's burn rate chart.
It might be the greatest thing since sliced bread but I will stick with BLC-2 for now. I do not see enough difference to matter and I have an established favorite load and supplies of my chosen powder on hand. Happy to see further research and development though. If there is any real benefit that comes to light in other folk's range testing, I might try a can to see if I gain anything. Which is how I came to the BLC-2 in the first place. IMR 4064 is my favorite and universal powder for most rifles from .22-250 to .30-06, but was not good choice for the smaller cased .223. So I chose another powder geared toward smaller capacity per caliber cases. Like 4064, BLC-2 is versatile, but in a slightly offset scale for shorter, smaller cases from .223 to .308, giving me two good choices for powders in the mid range of cartridges.
