There are triggers and there are triggers.
I don't particularly like skelotinized and do like G.I.'s--preferably short.
I don't like ambi's--I like wide and roundedand smooth on revolvers.
I like the grit of heavy and wide hammers.
I do prefer combat on 1911's over the long & curved.
Don't care for night sight---Heinie slant pros are my fav's.
I like long FP's, Good ejectors--no thanks to ambi safeties.
I prefer arched mainsprings to flat---I need a palm bump.
There are so many good parts made by good folks these days it is hard to imagine when the days were that you had to make do with some really poor parts.
Gunsmithing is available to everbody--and a lot of homefolks have a good understanding of the art.
There are still good'uns and wannabe's.
Blessings

There are so many aftermarket parts out there for the 1911 that you can change every part and if you take the leftovers and put them togather you will have a gun that looks a lott like the one you started with.

Will, most of the lower cost parts in Brownells are fine for 99% of the shooting public. My recipe for an extreme trigger job is +$200 in parts. It depends on your needs. I tune for fast reset, lite trigger pull, recoil reduction, accuracy and reliability. I use proven parts that meet my needs. If you're building for reliability/economy, I wouldn't pick a 1050 dominator
