A good friend of mine droped off a rifle for me to scope and sight in for him since he's extra bussy this time of year and I said that I didn't mind helping him out. Well Lo and behold he droped off a brand new Magnum Research model MLR-1722 semi-auto rifle in 22 Magnum! Its the spitting image of the older Ruger 10/22 in 22 Mag, even uses Ruger rotary mags. Has a integeral scope mounting rail and carbon fiber/stainless steel lined barrel. After scoping and bore sighting took it to the range to get it zeroed. What a dream to shoot. First 5 shots when low and left, adjusted to cross hairs to the group and then fired again. 5 rounds this time right into the bulls eye at 25 yards! Moved to a 75 yard target, made a slight adjustment to the scope and zinged another 18 rounds (2 mags worth) into the bull with a nice 1.5" group. Just might have to get one for myself as it funcitioned flawlessly. Oh allso forgot to mention its about a pound and a half lighter then my wood stocked Ruger 10/22 rifle in 22 LR. WOW.
