Any one out there ever owned a Walther .22? If you I would like your take on them. Quality, reliability, accuracy etc.
Thanks Darth Dadoo.

Lord Dadoo,
The weapon you seek is not yet available within the boundries of the empire. Next month, maybe!!!

I think what you are refering to is the now defunct Walther THP. (I think that was the model designation?) Basicly a scaled down version of the PPK in .22RF. I've never owned one, but I have seen and shot them. Very nice litte pistol although as I recall the trigger could stand some work. I also remember that they were rather expensive. The guy who owned the one I tried just loved it as a pocket gun.

I've owned two.
One, a European made PPK - very nice, very reliable.
The other was an American made TPH. A POS. It would not feed reliably, nor would the hammer always fall far enough to strike the cartridge when shooting DA.

Ok well obviosly I do not wanna own one of the American ones.
Yipes, that is a scary laundry list of bad attributes.

Dennis, yes I've seen the P22 on Walthers web page. The gun I was refering to was the THP. A smaller version of the PPK series chambered in .22RF. Walther doesn't make those anymore.
By all means, give us a range report on th P22 when you get it.

I've seen one (the one with the fake compensator added to the barrel, the version without it would be a pocket gun in Finland and not available to general public). The Walther P-22 is pretty much a scaled-down P-99. Interesting critter, but handling it, I couldn't lose the feeling of a toy gun. Too bad they had to scale down the whole gun instead of just the caliber, the grip felt all weird to me. It might be a nice option for kids and those with really small hands though.
Unfortunately I have no first (or second, for that matter...) hand info on how it handles at the range, so sorry I could not help you out there. But please let us know after you try it. :)

My second ever handgun was a Walther PP Sport. This was a .22LR built on a standard PP frame, but it had a 5" barrel and target sights. Both magazines had a "pinkie extension" at the bottom, and the left grip panel had a raised thumbrest. It was an accurate pistol, and I never had any problems with reliability.

Richard J., I assume that you sold this pistol. If so, why, what did you get for it, what did you pay for it, and did you know its' value? I had a chance to buy one years ago and, as usual then, I was broke. The owner wanted $300 20 years ago and it was worth $750 then. Thanks in advance for your response and regards, Richard
