Frenchy,
I'm sure you took your HS2K to EOSMII. So, any new converts to our beloved pistol? What kind of reactions did you get?

Afraid not Gusgus. I sold my HS to a fellow officer a few weeks ago (there's a thread on HS about that). Bill was a little bummed about that, as he wanted Terri to try it. It will most likely be replaced one of these days.

Actually, my Russian has a decided East German Accent, but the Makarov did get a good workout this weekend. Thanks a bunch Bubba for letting me try the Benelli. It's always great to shoot something I'll never afford to own. :D
By the way Bubba, I contacted Steve Schafer on that holster we saw at the gun show, and it is indeed genuine Shark. I also called Wilson Combat, and was told that they use his leather. This is the e-mail I received from him:
-------------
Steve:
Thanks for your interest in our leather and thanks for the question. Our sharkskin gun leather is built of genuine sharkskin. Our business is at our home in a remote area of the Ozarks in south central Missouri. No fancy frills here. We have trophy whitetail deer, turkey, and quail, Woodcock etc. in our back yard. We love it and the overhead is low. Our prices are about wholesale. We probably build more shark gun leather that any one in the nation. We do not inflate the prices. We add the additional cost of the sharkskin and the additional labor, make a fair profit and stay very busy. Our guarantee is rock solid; if you do not like the leather for any reason, return it for a full refund. I hope this has answered your questions but if you have any other, please contact me. My phone number is 417-277-5636.
Sincerely,
Steve

I guess that is going to be the new home for my Smith 39! :)

That is GREAT news. It really was a pretty piece of work. Best of luck with it.
And just so we are clear.. I knew there was an East German accent there.... I tend to speak Russian with a Bulgarian accent myself... ;)

Gusgus, I was going to be one of the converts. Actually Terri has been talking about the "G' word here lately and I do not want to offend my real guns by bringing one into the house. I guess I got even (http://www.familyfriendsfirearms.com/cgi-bin/fff/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=000055&counterhit=yes) with Frenchy for selling it before he could bring it. ;)
He did convince me that everyone needs a Mak though.

you don't have to worry about offending any real guns by bringing a Glock into the house. I've been told by every Glock owner I've met about how durable Glocks are and that Glocks thrive on mud, rain and being run over. So I make them leave them things in the gutter by the curb ;)

Frenchy taught me a little E German tinted Russian as well. I usually speak Bulgarian/Russian, and I believe Turkey Call also spoke our hybrid language. The Italian went over very well with quite a few of us, and I hope to speak that language someday, too.
*whispering so Bill doesn't hear me* There were 3 Glocks in his house the entire meet weekend. I even let Blue try all three for fit. :D
Frenchy- As I remember Steve Schafer had a web site as well. Do you by chance have the address? I really liked there shark skin holster for the Glock19

Frenchy, Frenchy, Frenchy, what in the world am I suppose to do with you? You SOLD your HS2000?!!! Man, I'd sell my Beretta or SIG before I sell mine. ;) Only one thing left to do. Best to have Kermee shut down your HStalk account pronto. Hang your head in shame man, hang your head in shame. :D :D
BTW, my HS2K is in PA, inside the camper's instant access safe, guarding the lives of my wife and daughters. Figured they deserved my best pistol. :D Tomorrow night, it will be on my hip, as we sit around the camp fire. Darn, I miss that gun. :(
Not to worry Gus, He'll be back.

There will be another one in my future, but for the time being, I have a couple of other projects in mind. A Bulgarian Mak with the Novak sight conversion with GunKote finish, and some custom work for my Smith "39".
