I have received information on a recall for Glock Firearms. The
> information is as follows. Please dissiminate.
>
> Glock "E" Series frame recall
>
> This recall affects all "E" series weapons. These are the frames of
> weapons that have three alpha characters followed by numbers in the serial
> numbers. The three alpha characters will begin with "E". They also advise
> that it may include high number "D" series and low number "F" series
> frames. There was a problem with the machine that creates the bend on the
> left rear slide rail. It has caused this piece to break off with the
> pressure from firing the weapon. They are claiming this is only a problem
> with the 40 caliber weapons as that the 9mm does not cause enough pressure
> for the piece to break off. They are replacing the frames for affected
> weapons. You may call to see if your weapon is affected by calling
> 1-866-225-4098.

I am sure that Glock is not calling this a recall, however if you call them with your #, and if you firearm is affected they will ship a new frame free of charge to a dealer in your area. This also effected my #17 which has been taken care of already. If you are a LEO than you will be able to have special arrangements made for you by Glock.

They are claiming this is only a problem with the 40 caliber weapons as that the 9mm does not cause enough pressure for the piece to break off.

Uh, what about their .357SIG, 10mm, and .45 ACP models? They also produce a whole lot more pressure then 9mm. :OMG:
