Yesterday (May 10th) we had out monthly bowling pin match. Following the pin match, the Blackwater Proactical Shooters (of which I am a member of as well) held a steel match demo. Everyone in attendance was invited to participate. We had a great time! I LOVE STEEL!!! I have already been told that I am going to PSA next year! Anyway, here are some links to some short videos that I shot yesterday. They are between 2-3 mb, sorry for those with slow modem connections.

Steel Shooting
These are some of my IPSC shooting buddies. They are all shooting "race guns". I shot my Witness with standard mags (Liberals know them as 16rnd hi-caps). My best run was my first...9.6 secs.!!! I only wish people would tape me sometime!

For some still pics you can go to the Virginia Beach Rifle and Pistol Club site and look at some of the albums that I have there. I have some from yesterdays match as well as some other matches for the past year stored there in albums!!!

I think that we will be putting on Steel Matches on a monthly basis! The response was overwhelming. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Some of the shooters yesterday had never shot steel before. I think some are hooked!!!

Nice! I Like your range - are there more shooting bays?
Beautiful countryside.

No AM...We only have one bay, and actually it's not a bay...only the backstop.

Here are some pics that I took of our range. It is small and we are going to loose it soon because of "improvements"...read as...more houses being built! (I'm not even going to get into this)

I have heard from one of the VP's that once we get a permit for the new range...(and we haven't found a site yet) that we will have multiple bays! I can't wait!!!

Great sorrow - we had that happen to us. The Tucson Rod and Gun club was opened in the Sabino Canyon area in 1957, and had one minor accident in all the time it was open. About 4 years or so ago, a new Forest Service official decided it was unsafe, and terminated the lease on the land. Found out later he had a house in the area and apparently ddn't like the noise. After the range closed, it became a Superfund site for toxic cleanup,(open it isn't, but closed it is!), on the lead, and they started charging to go up Mt Lemmon (Coranado National Forest), to 'pay for it'. During this whole time the Sabino Canyon National Monument is next door, and has 27 people die in the Seven Falls area in 25 years. All they did is put up a sign....

Can't wait until our new Pima Country Public Range is open - supposed to be very soon!
