Steel Challenge matches are FAST and furious!!! All STEEL!!! Check this out for some information on Steel Challenge rules http://www.isishootists.com/scsa/index.htm.
From what I have gathered so far is that it consists of 7 stages. 5 pieces of steel per stage...4 targets and 1 stop plate. Each of 6 stages are shot 5 times each (one right after another., you don't leave the shooting line until all 5 strings are shot). The 4 best times are used in calculating your score. The 7th stage "Outer Limits" is shot only 4 times and the best 3 times are counted. You have a maximum time of 30 seconds per string to shoot.
This is a VERY fast game. Speed and accuracy is the name of the game!!!
As a side shoot (no pun intended) are other steel matches. The Annual PSA match in PA is also a steel match. It differs in that there may be 30+ pieces of steel per stage!!! 150+ pieces of steel for the match!!! Check out their site for pics of the stages for 2003!!!http://www.psashootout.com/
I have already been told that I WILL be going there next year!!! Have I told you I LOVE STEEL!!!:up:
