All That For Nothing!

Since I have some new found time on my hands (see "I Finally Did It" on Hob Nobbing), I actually took the time to go through the gun collection today. This included organizing any spare parts and mags that I happened to run into. Among the spare parts I ran into was a Chinese factory 20 round fixed mag for one of my SKS's. I did recall acquiring it at a gunshow back in '93. It was still in wrap, and smothered in "preservative". I figured "Why not" and commenced cleaning the darn thing, with the help from my Queenchicken. After a minimun of two hours, the mag was finally cleaned. I tried to install it on one of my SKS's, and behold, a non-functioning weapon. It turns out that one of the feed lips on this new mag was situated in a way, where it would be impossible for the bolt to move over it. All the time and effort, ARRRG!!**LOL**

I have read a lot of posts about the fixed 20's being junk. They are almost given away at the auction. I would say to stay diffenently with the 10 round fiwed mags or the best high caps you can find.
I have 3 Sk's for sale you you need safe filler

Wolv314 - Bummer.

Can the lips be "adjusted" with a little file work, or is not even worth the effort?

Carston - Why are you selling so many of your SKS's? You don't have to free up funds to buy some REAL beer just on Stu and my accounts. :D

I tried a 20-rounder in my last fixed-box SKS. Wasn't reliable with over 8rds. loaded. I'm convinced that NONE of them are. If you want more than the 10, then get a Sporter that accepts AK mags. :)
