Any Ideas?

A friend at work told me Thursday night that he took his Marlin 22 auto apart & cleaned it. When he put it back together, everything works fine except the bolt will no longer lock open when empty. I have not looked at the rifle yet, so I have only thoughts. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. :confused:
