Yes another one!

Friday, as a way to celebrate my new found freedom, I picked up another rifle. This is the first as a free man. Its another pre ban mini14. It came with a Choate pistol grip stick, a Ram-Line 30 round mag, and a cheezie flash hider. But the cost was under $325 out the door. The mag is the first thing that went. Just hate those worthless Ram-Line mags, and a factory 30 rounder loaded with Hornady TAP ammo has been inserted. I test fired it with a primed case to make sure it went bang. Still need to get it to the range and check out the sites, but until then if I need it at home, the point ability should work just fine.

For those of you keeping count, like Carston, this makes number 5. Now all I gotta do is figure out what to do to it as far as customizing the beegeebers outta it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Okay, I'm confused (not that that particular phenomenon is completely foreign to me). Do you now have a P&P officer?

I do have a suggestion though. Have you thought of making one a tack drive just to drive your AR friends crazy? <evil grin here> ;)

Give Accuracy Rifle Systems a holler at (915)362-6840. They're located in TX and have no web site but are the folks that advertise that they sell systems to make Mini's shoot sub minute of angel.

<uttering under breath>
I need to get me one of them mini's one of these days. They are my dream "black rifle" unlike some people around these parts. ;)

Carston- Sorry buddy, I don't need anything that big to prove that I cant hit anything past 100 yards. All it would do is help me miss at greater ranges. http://www.familyfriendsfirearms.com/forums/icons/icon29.gif

Stu - Congrats on your new found freedom. :)

5 Mini-14's now, eh? I know you love your Mini's, but DAMN! How many little .223 poodle shooters can one person use?! :D

Son- You sound like either your jealous, or you don't have a new gun to gloat over. Feel free to bash the mini14 all you want. But Im willing to bet that you've never owned one, nor shot one.

I've shot them enough to not be overly thrilled or say "Wow". I'll stick to my AR's and FAL's thank you very much. Why would I be jealous of a rifle that tries and tries to be something it'll never be?

If you semi-auto nuts want to take em too, I'll stick to my 1000 yard bolt rifles then :p

A bit of an attitude and arrogance over something that was meant to be humorous (ref. smiley faces) don't cha think? Especially for a moderator nonetheless. Don't get into a pissing match stu.

Son,
Ya gotta understand...Stu has had some trying times and a few of us beat him up over the Mini 14's.
Give him support....he is like closet AR, he owns 2 and just can't come to grips with himself. He will have to tell his friends, family and that can be a burden to bare.
Stu, we are ALL there for ya...we will help you. Ar's are so easy, easier than a 38 year old divorcee with 3 kids in the back of a van...whoops, ya I ment Push 2 pins, pull handle and WD40 the bolt, CLP the carrier, a few strokes with a brass brush, a few drops of Tetra and your good to go. They fall apart like a Hoe in heat and go together like a Tight >>>>>>Cliff will get me so you know

Wolv314_ I might have a 1981 pre ban mini14 for sale cheap if Dennis doesn't want it at EOSMII. It is old enough that the upper hand guard is made outta wood instead of the more recent plastic. Ill let ya know if he doesn't buy it from me. BTW it would include a factory pre ban 30 round mag. :)

Carston- Buddy, pal, fellow 223 shooter. One of these days we'll get together and Ill let you shoot a mini14. Soon after that I see you buying them as fast as you can. BTW don't worry about Son. He's just upset cause he didn't get a new gun this week. :D

This is probably the only week Son didn't get a new gun. After that one week last month, his gun dealer probably didn't have anything left to sell. ;) :D
