Another weekend, another gunshow. :) S.A. must be having a sale because one dealer had some good prices. A loaded with Walnut stock, darker than Cliffs` for $1099, a loaded with the glass stock like my Scout for $999 and a laminate stock for $1,495. This guy had some good deals on AR`s too. I didn`t go there to buy any guns but when I mentioned I`d like to get a loaded with the Walnut stock, the guy said to give him my drivers license and I`d be on my way! I ran like hell out the door but there`s always tomorrow!

He also had some DCM Garands with paperwork for about a grand. One was an Int`l Harvester. I thought that was a little high.

I did find those little grease pots. They`re not marked milspec but I know the dealer and they were 10 for a dollar.

Bought some ammo cans from a guy who grew up in South Ozone Park which is in Queens. Ayyy! That`s a couple of miles from where I grew up. Small world.

Bill, I saw a nice 6" Model 19 with the box for $369 I think. Pretty. I didn`t talk to the dealer so it may have gone a little cheaper. There was a 6" blue Python also for $600.

Dinosaur - Sounds like you had a pretty good day!

Nice price on that SA "loaded". The walnut is darker on mine than the pic made it seem. After 3 coats of Formby's low gloss tung oil it's darker still.

Those Garand's DO sound like they were priced a tad high... depends on the condition, receiver make and year, etc.

Glad to hear you were finally able to find some grease - the pots are never marked 'milspec', but the size and yellow top indicate that's what you want.

A Python for $600.00.... *sigh* .... someday.

I spent *MY* day cleaning the garage. :(

You know there is a good chance someone like...well you know the Mini 14 guy could run across that deal and then...oh to think, a loaded SA M1A shut up in a safe full of Mini things.

I need to get my M1A out and tell her all will be well.

There were some really nice rifles there considering how small the show was. I was talking to an AR15 collector and he was pointing out some of the rarer stuff. There was one without the forward assist and a lot of pre bans. Oh yeah, about 4 military M1 carbines from different manufacturers.

I sent away for the instructions on how to get a DCM Garand. According to the website, most are not matching #s so I think $1000 was high.

If I go back I might try and trade off my Colt AR post ban. I`d rather have a pre ban anyway and the safe is getting crowded.
