Alan...What is that counter at the bottom of the page??? and how can we get from #27 up to the top???

Red, I put that in last night to see if it brings any new members. We get ranked by # of unique visitors. So each time someone clicks on FFF today, it counts as 1 hit. When I first signed up, we were at 72, last night late, we were at 36. I'm not sure if the hit counter is reset each day or week but it's defintely moving up.

Also be sure to click on the banner, they count how many times that's been clicked as well. :up:

Thanks Sandy...I was wondering what the ranking criterion was??? How do we get it to move up the ladder???

If I read it correctly, it will go by visitors to FFF. I'm just not sure how it works, if someone clicks on FFF in the morning it counts as a hit, but I don't know how the cookie thing works. If that same person clicks on again later (after their cookies have cleared) will it count as another hit? :dunno: I guess we'll see if it goes up during the day, it sure has gone up alot and hasn't even been up 12 hours yet. I'm not sure how many hits a day we get here at FFF, but those ranking in the top five are at approx 3000 hits a day. We just may get up to at least the top 10 (I hope) :up:

I just checked out the stats and they are ranking by the 5 day average of the number of unique hits that a site gets. I guess we will have to wait about 5 days to get a decent average value!!! If everyone comes in at least once a day we shoot shoot up to the top 20...maybe even top 10, but that would require alot of visits!!!

Not only that, but if you get on at work, then make sure that you get on from home as well...that should count as 2 hits...different IP's.....by the end of the week we should easily be in the top 15!!!

Sounds like a plan Redrum! :up: It counts guests too and we do get alot of guests, so maybe we can make it to the top 15. :D

Alan, do you have any idea how many hits we get here per day? I looked in the stats but can only find average posts, not visits. :dunno:

It looks like we are tied at 26, but are getting 27 because they have more banner clicks. If everyone clicks on the banner at the bottom of this page, we can move up to spot #26! :lol:

Additionally, it counted total visits while this counter counts unique visits so the two numbers wouldn't have matched anyway. I'm thinking of adding a counter to our site starting on Jan 1 so we can track that kind of info.

The only one that I know of is Bravenet, but if you use the free service, you can only see the last 10 people who have visited. However it will give you stats of how many people actually visited. I think I am allowed one more counter so if you can't find anything by then, let me know, and I'll copy and paste the code to the footer.

I used to use Fastcounter on my old Genology Site that I had. It's free and easy and tracks daily, weekly and monthly traffic. It used to e-mail a monthly report to me (I don't know if they still do that).

Ok, when i was replying, the image was not there. After I clicked submit reply, I could then see it. Hmmmmm Maybe they are refreshing the banners? :dunno:

A red "x" with lower case letters, in blue, spelling "image" to the right of the "x". Click on it and get a "page cannot be displayed" message.

This has been going on since last night. Not steady "off line" but more off than on.

A. Since the Top Sites boards list websites from around the world, we chose GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). What this means is when it's midnight, GMT, the boards will roll over to the next day. This is six hours earlier than midnight, CST, which is around 6PM CST.
