Redrum, there is a clause in the rules which will allow a match director or Area Coordinator to move someone up in class beased on known shooting ability. That said.... the following was in the CENTEX match report yesterday afternoon.

Over iced tea and Burritos Compuestas, we came to the conclusion that even before we see the results from Missy's classifier(since she is shooting one today), we here at CenTex have determined her skill level is that of a Marksman, classifer results not withstanding. It was proposed, seconded and due to a unanimous vote of all her friends here in CenTex, Melissa Kreutz is officially an IDPA Marksman! Congrats Missy!! Now take your card to Ted or Walt or IMG0079 and have them put todays date and MM/ESP on your classification card...

So you see... it doens't really matter HOW she did on that classifier yesterday, she has been DECLARED a Marksman. :D :p :D

How do you think I got my Expert Classification????? :D

I know they are getting ready for todays match at the Easton Range. Rather than drive back to NJ late last night, she probably crashed on Ted and Michelle's sofa. We may not hear anything until late tonight. I know they will be shooting stages from the Carolina Cup. And will have a shotgun side match. And they are going have a hot dog roast after that. Gonna be a loooooong day for those folks.

Cool! I didn't know that they could do that, but it is nice to know. It's kinda like high school where you know the test data, but froze when it came to actually taking the test. I like that idea...

Bubba,
Somehow I do not belive that this is the eay you got Expert!

Ok, Miquela and I are on to the next step!

-Redrum Thanks Bubba

lol... Yeah Redrum... it actually was. I have been shooting SS for a couple of years now. And ... well... I hadn't shot a classifier in a long time.

SOME people accused me of sandbagging. But.. in reality... the friends I compete with regularly were still SS.. so I stayed SS.

Not long ago, I shot pretty close to our Master level Rangemaster. His wife, our match director, broadcast to the entire IDPA list... that I am NOW and Expert. So I moved up by declaration. And the Area Coordinators for Tx and North Carolina agreed. (Not so sure the AC for Virgina didn't also agree.) I was sunk. lol

Then again.. I did beat both the rangemaster and the match director yesterday. Who knows where they will bump me next. :D

Opps! I thought you were joking!

Not that I am saying that you are sandbagging...and I think that it is great that they moved you up...but I wish that I could do that to some of the bowlers in my leagues that I truely know that are sandbagging. Imagine their surprise if I could add 5-10 pins to their average...You would be able to see steam rising from their ears!

lol... I really didn't think I was sandbaggin... cuz I wasn't winnin anything. But... the match director did make the point of how much better I have been shooting. And just because I haven't shot a classifyer doesn't mean I am not shooting Expert.

Now... I DID tell her today... just because I won yesterday... that DOESN'T mean she can bump me to Master. THAT one I WILL fight... :D

Just goes to show... it NEVER pays to beat the match director, the range master or the score keeper. :D

Well I guess you will just have to shoot a classifier and remove all doubt that they have!

Melissa made her Marksman Class, with 30 seconds to spare.

Dropped 58 points on stage three though. She was trying to pick up her speed and shot at 20 yards with her 10 yard cadence. Considering she is more than capable of nailing a teacup at 20 yards I suspect she will quickly learn to balance accuracy/speed at that range.

In short order I think she'll be winining her class and/or making Sharpshooter class at her next classifier.

OK OK OK - I'm home. :) Bubba was right, very long day. VERY long day. But... yesterday at the classifier, I did come in as Marksman. :) Forgot my bloody camera at home so there so no pics

Today's match - was a lot of fun. But I'm beat now, and have to get some sleep , so I'll tell more about it tomorrow. :)

I would have given ANYTHING to have seen the look on Miquela's face. Seem's our boy Ted put a sign on the barrel at stage three.... "No Meandering". And she didn't!

I KNEW I liked that boy. :D

Good job hun. You know we are all proud of ya. Looks like that little bout of upset stomach passed soon enough not to effect your shooting. ;)

No Meandering. ROFLMAO!!! He wrote in BIG PERMANENT MARKER...

Meandering and drew a circle around it with a line thru it - like a no smoking sign. Of course, when I saw it, I cracked up and it took me a few minutes to regain my composure - I can't for **** when I'm giggling. ;)

And now that you mention it, the tummy ache was better by the time I shot on Saturday, was fine yesterday, but it's back today. bleck. Oh well. Tums are my friends. ;)

It was a great weekend. :D

Sorry to hear that Miquela. If that keeps up you might want to see a doc. Could be acid reflux or something worse.

naaahhhhhh. I don't need no stinkin doctors. ;) :D I'm fine dude. But thanks.

I'm still going to come and do the scoring of the match tonight - don't fear about that. I wanna see how I did. I also wanna see how you did on that Matrix stage. :D :p :D

Matrix Stage? That sounds interesting! Do you get to fly though the air and watch bullets in slow motion??? :D

We didn't score the matrix stage Miquela, against IDPA rules....

For clarification, just before we broke down our 18 shot blind houseclearing stage (and the shooters had all left to go eat) I ran it again. At the beep I drew a G17 and G19 at the same time and got busy. When the guns went dry I new york reloaded and kept going.

I think I ran the stage in like 12 seconds.

they didn't write a time down for you?? or score it just for the heck of it?? i knew it wouldn't count towards the match - but i wish i could have seen it ;)

That sounds like fun! I have a Para 7.45 and a SA Loaded that would be a blast! Ehhh..I guess the flying part is out at that point? Darn!

New York reload? Is that where you just get another gun?

Yes, after he threw his Glock down, he tossed the other Glock into his right hand, and drew his J-frame from his pocket and let the BGs have it.

NY reload = back-up gun. :D
"The fastest reload is a second gun." ;)

Redrum

Hmmmm. New York reload...The way I shoot I would weigh an extra 20 lbs. Let's see Para on right hip, SA Loaded on left hip, Ruger in right back pocket, S&W in Left back pocket, Bersa in ankle holster...I am running out of places to put them....(Carefull with the comments...they don't fit! and NO I haven't tried!)

That does sound like a fun stage though! Maybe an option for the "Easton Assassination 2002"
