I stumbled across this Savage 111 today and I'll be damned if it didn't follow me home.
It is brand new, not a mark on the stock-barrel-or glass. Bolt is spot free. Even the lazered in SAVAGE on the bolt is good along w/their emblem!
It has- Simmons 2.5-10X50 WA glass, black lightweight composite stock w/dual pillar bed, recoil-pad, 2 boxes 150gr Powerpoint (Win) ammo.
She followed me home for $270.00 out the door, tax inc.......
Gonna take her out tomorrow providing it doesn't start blizzarding on me.
Was this a good buy, I'm not familiar w/111....
....:spin::spin:..:YEAH:...:hapydanc::hapydanc:....:whooho:..

Does it have Savage's new Acu Trigger? If so, you stole it.
If not you got a very very good deal. You will want to replace the old style trigger with something else, though. Timney made excellent triggers for the pre-Acu Trigger Savage rifles.

try Savage Shooters.com (http://www.savageshooters.com/index.html) for links to products and information. They have a forum over there, too.
Rifle Basix also makes aftermarket triggers for the Savage rifles. They seem to run about the same amount as the Timneys.
I was going to go the route of a new trigger, but then I had my smith do a trigger job, and my pull is fantastic. The smithing only cost $35.00, so keep that in mind as an option. Of course, this is all speculation based on the assumption that your gun doesn't have the accu-trigger. If it does, and you paid that price, I'm coming to where you are to find so gun deals like that!

No Sir, not Accu, but the trigger on it is very nice. If you sneeze w/finger on trigger it will set it. Guessing about 2lbs at the most on pull. Very crisp.
Well, I didn't get to take her out today. Think it got up to 20 but the wind is blowing and gusting around 30mph...Kinda chilly...:(
