A friend of mine is searching for a cheap .308. I found him a Gibbs Quest II Extreme for $199 and I am wondering if anyone has any impressions of these rifles.

I thought it looked pretty good and the price seems right.

I have the Quest Extreme which is a clone of the No#5 Jungle Carbine. I think it's great little rifle. For that money and depending on condition I'd go for it and, .308 is cheap to shoot! :up:

well, as an afterthought, make sure this friend of yours has at least handled an Enfield, or better still, fired one to see if they find it comfortable. I have a 2A1, and, frankly, the ergonomics of the buttstock blow.

This rifle is pretty clean, should I tell him to go ahead and pick it up at 199? I told him to offer a 150 first.
