That one is for settlin' in and hitting at 300-400 yards ;)

Out west we take looong shots.

I got to thinking about the handi-rifle. I have one in 45/70. Stiff and accurate, so how about these single-shots

I've always wanted a .22 hornet (not sure why). Let us know how you like it.

I like the looks of it as well :) I was checking it out on the Savage website a few days ago myself. Wonder what the going price will be? I have a 22 Hornet but it's in a M6 Scout rifle (open sights) so I can't really tell what the round is capable of as far as accuracy is concerned. Sure looks like the M40 has the potential to be a tack-driver.

I read a review a while back that compared varminters out of the box: Savage, Winchester, Remington, Ruger. The Savage won and was far cheaper. The author was impressed :)

Savage does make accurate stuff, however not the prettiest girl at the dance....

Ya gonna dance one dance then change partners or ya gonna make a life together? Pretty is skin deep, or in this case blue deep.

Savage's barrel nut system is inherently accurate. Ugly, but accurate.

funny, when they first introduced the 40, it was to be also available in .223. i think it's odd that they chanded their mind. perhaps their rimfire-action-on-steroids couldn't handle .223 pressures :dunno:
