I just got back from a meeting here at work where we were listening to a representative of a local mental health agency talk about their services.
During the presentation I was forced to listen to the speaker make SEVERAL comments about the war in Iraq.
He said several times that the war was "illegal," "an irresposible occupation of a free country."
You don't want to hear what he had to say about Vietnam and Korea ....
Sorry, just had to vent a little .....

I did try and talk to him after his presentation, but he was quicker out the door than I was getting to him.
It's a good thing I was sitting next to my boss ... her husband is in Summarra as we speak .. she helped me stay calm.
But, hey, that's what makes America great .. freedom of speech.

She agreed to walk over with me and talk to him after he was done instead of standing up and giving him the where-for and how-to during his presentation.
She was pissed enough to get in touch with our CEO and ask him to contact the Mental Health agency he worked for

Good. Whomever was paying this person to make a presentation of services offered was probably not intending to pay this person to spread a personal agenda on company time. If they were, then it's good to let them know that's not what your company desires from them.

I do believe that I would not have been as restrained as you, Jerry. I would have likely raised my hand and told him that I was interested in hearing his views on mental health, but that he could keep his personal political agenda to himself. I suspect you would have gotten a bit of an ovation, given your location in the country.
Get these liberal A'holes within 10 yards of a soapbox and they'll use it every time.

Perhaps he was hoping to trip someone's trigger and get them into a paying gig of "anger management". ;)

I work with some of the worse Pres Bush haters in the US, and they "repersent" America
I try my best to ignore the little political cartoons on the walls and the other crap but If I was a civilian I wouldn't have the same constraints (like getting relieved from the program if someone here bitches to the Amb about them not liking one of the Marines.)
However, I did meet the minority leader yesterday and he asked if i had been to Iraq, I said no but I was trying, he didnt understand that in the least. The DS agent tactfully interviend before we could get into a discusion about it
