Depending on the model, the stock can either be perfectly acceptable, or a dismal excuse for rifle holding....... My .300 WM Sendero has a wonderful stock, but there again, I paid a price commenserate with it's quality.

Triggers are "easily" adjusted by competent gunsmiths, which will void your warranty.
Rem 700 triggers are best replaced, rather than tuned

As for rings, Get decent rings, I like those that use the 1913 rail, which is basically "weaver". I despize weaver rings though.

Barrels, again, aren't that difficult to change for one with proper tools. what contour you can go to depends on your stock, and how much you are willing to modify it, or spend on a new one.

Sincerely,

For a stock i really like the hogue overmoulded ones, i have one on my 700 classic.
the 700vs came with a H-S Precision stock, very nice and rigid.
I had a ramline synthetic stock, but it cracked by the tang.
Check out snipercountry.com for info on adjusting the trigger, but they are best done by seomeone that knows what they are doing.
If your going with a leuopld scope, why not go with leuopold rings and bases as well?
for barrels...GAUsaid it right, and agian using a good smith should be done for this one unless you know how to headspace and such.

Leupold turn-in rings are stronger than Burris turn-in rings, better made too, in my opinion.

When you really want to upgrade go with badger rings :D

Leupold scopes are very nice, I have two and I cant complain at all (except for the price, sucks haveing as much IF NOT more into scopes)

I hate synthetic stocks but that is just me. There are millions of Rem 700 stuff out there, all you have to do is look.

ketchup,

I am going on the assumption that you bought the ADL version. I have 4 of those in different calibers. The stock on the ADL is tolerable, but does have a lot of flex. I am looking to put boyds JRS laminated ones on a few of mine. There are better snthetic ones out there, but they all come with a price, and it dependson how much you want to spend.

As far as scopes go Leupolds are very nice, another option that gets you a lot of scope for the money are Nikon Buckmasters.

Leupold bases are good, I have them on 3 of mine, another option for you to look at are Warne Maxima series, got that on the other one. They are powder coated steel and use the picatinny rail type mounting system. bases and rings would run around $35 total.

The other guys have given you great advice on the trigger and barrel.

The Burris Signature rings are the best thing going, the mounts are clunky, use Leupolds. The tech section at www.varminthunters.com has an article on adjusting Remington triggers. Rifle Basix is the most cost-effective replacement. If you have the H-P stock with the bedding block, just tighten to 65 inch-pounds and rejoice...
Most good 'smiths and barrel makers will throw in truing the action with a barrel replacement, best thing you can do for a rifle is lose the factory pipe,,,
