I agree that "war is war and you extract intel by any means." And it sometimes has to be done, But I still don't have to respect the ones who are doing it. They enjoy it.

Tell you what, sit down next to this ex-special forces guy that I know and he'll go into great detail about the things that he's done and how he really enjoys hearing people scream. This creep ain't no friend of MINE....Why?...Because I don't have any respect for him.

Let's put it this way, a "group" has your family,friends and your dog Fido threatening to "do away" with them. Would you not ,by any means, seek intel any way possible no matter how "gruesome".
These guys are of a different breed just doing the mission at hand. Mind and soul do a "shut down" to any so called feelings as normally would be. Some handle "it" better than others in the duration and there are the ones who lose it when there is no more mission for them.

Even German regulars feared the SS...and everyone feared the Gestapo. These kind of men answer to no one.....which makes them useful in some situations....and expendable.
