I use www.familyfreindsfirearms.com (http://www.familyfreindsfirearms.com) as my home page, but this gives me a small problem on the boards. Everytime I sign on to the internet, the board uses that time to determine the "New Posts since you last visited" icons, even if I never entered any of the forums. Would there be a way to have a page that just has the FFF banner, and a "Welcome to FFF discussion forums" link, so that the last time I visited, actually was the last time I visited?
Thanks,
Eric

Funny that you should mention this as this was something that was being discussed by the staff last night.
Yes, we will have a front door to this place. One has already been created and I suspect is being modified as we speak. Once done, we'll put the final touches on it (i.e., link(s)) and it will be put in place.

eric, are you using windows 98? You can use it as the active desktop? This way you could just click on the banner right from your desktop?

I slipped past the "Front Door", removed the link to it from my FAVORITES and added the "menu" page. It ain't nothing I want.

The nice thing is, THAT'S where we can post links to other places, both on and off our site. We can put up our own web site here, as well as just running the board.
Too cool. (And I have no use for the "Entry Page" at the moment either, but later...)

Well Jim, the front door is here (just like at a lot of other boards) for those that want to use it. For those that want to come in through the back, that's just as acceptable as well.

Alan, I have no problem with a "front door" that has a use beyond saying "here we are!" The "front door" to 1911Forum has a number of things to link to besides the forums. I keep up the front door to TAC just because I can click out a pretty good machinegun burst on the enter button.
Not to knock your hard work but it serves no purpose for me.

Well, Jim I can't argue with you about that as I frequently go in throught the backdoor to other forums myself. However ... it does serve as a nice entry way for first-time new-comers ... other boards have them ... and ... as Dennis said, we're going to be adding to this place as we go. After all, we've only been off of EZ-Board for about two weeks and here in our final home for only a few days.
