Are there any experts on old H & R revolvers out there? I picked up a single/double action revolver today & was curious about it. It is an H & R model 660 "Gunfighter" .22 LR 6 shot revolver. I looked in several old reference books I had & can find references to models 650, 666, etc., but none to a 660. Most I found referenced were "convertible" guns w/ both .22LR & .22 WMR cylinders. Also most had adjustable sights. This one appears to be .22 LR only. I can't say this for sure as the caliber is not marked on it anywhere but it only has a .22 LR cylinder. The rear sight is just a notch in the frame like an old colt peacemaker.
The little gun feels good, functions perfectly & appears to be in excellent condition. I got it cheap ($75) but was just curious about it. Any info out there?

I took one in to help cover a debt last year. Wasn't a bad shooting .22. For me it would group into around 2" at 15 yards. For a real shooter I'm sure it would have done much better. I gave it to a buddy's 13 year old son for a first handgun, a good kid who was wearing my K22 out everytime we went to the range. In good shape I'd say $75 is a very decent price for this revolver.
