AMENDED PATRIOT ACT INCLUDES ATF PROVISION . . . The U.S. Senate is expected to vote this week on an amended Patriot Act, which, among many other changes, would make the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) more accountable to the Senate, CQ Today reported Monday. The provision would make ATF’s director subject to Senate confirmation. The revised bill is supported by NSSF. "NSSF supports this bill because it places the ATF directorship on a level commensurate with the organization's importance as a key federal law enforcement and homeland security agency," said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel.

No it's not. I've been opposed to many of the provisions of this act since day one.
FAR too much POTENTIAL for abuse!
