The Indiana Legislature has passed the bill giving us lifetime carry permits for $125. When the Governor signs it, (he supports it) we'll be good to go.

That is great news. I am jealous. We have a 5 year renewal.

We have nothing :( At this point, I'd settle for $200 a year just to HAVE it...

Brock, out of curiosity, if you know: Is it illegal to carry firearms in Kansas or is there just no CCW? There is a difference and it can, ultimately be significant.;)

The best I understand our rules, the state allows us to open-carry, but not all cities permit that. We have reciprocity for transport, but not carrying or storing firearms.
I'm also under the impression (which may albeit be mistaken) that if someone sees you open-carrying and "panics", then the police can charge you with inciting panic, regardless of what you were actually doing to deserve that. Usually that's left up to the Panicking Sheep to determine what panics them. So basically, there's no CCW and open carry leaves you at the mercy of the Sheeple.
I have talked with several people who carry anyway (keep a loaded revolver in their truck, etc). No, I do not know their names or identities, and no I am not one of them.

Ambiguous laws are a no-no. I'm going to study Kansas' laws a bit and I'll get back to you.

In CA it is up to the Chief Local Law Enforcement Officer. It all depends on where you live.

That's the assumption I'm operating under. I've never been arrested and I don't intend to start now...
If you figure out any oddities, though, I'd certainly be interested in hearing them...

WE are supposedly able to carry in the open here in Ne. But if I did I would probably have one of our local Kojack wannabes stick a glock in my face and have me up agaist a wall.

In New York , some counties have a 5 year renewal others are valid until revoked.
the closer you get to New York city the harder it is to get a CCW without being on the job, armed security or a business owner...
the rest of the state other then the capital district and buffalo is
still shall issue...
