I own both ...

... both are accurate and reliable but the 92FS seems to be more solidly built while the Vertec seems to have a more natural point to it and reminds me a little bit of how my Browning Hi-Power points.

Just curious how others compare the two guns?

I like the rail and dove-tailed sights on the Vertec, but still prefer the original grip shape.

I know nothing first hand about either gun but I do know the Beretta 92 was John McClain’s gun

If I owned a Beretta handgun it would be a Vertec.

I like the original grip of the 92.
The Vertec is suposed to have a similar feel/pointability to a 1911 and be more accomodating to smaller hands.
That said, the upper parts are identical as are the parts in the frame. The frames are the only differance. Of the ones I've shot and seen they seem to compare about equally. :dunno:

I'd like to have a Beretta 92FS but for the money I think the Taurus is a pretty good gun. Mine was only $399 and is one of the nicest guns I've ever seen. The finish is really nice and quality is great. Plus you get the 17 round magazines. I may buy a Beretta when they have a sale on but I don't see how they can be that much better than the Taurus, expecially since the Taurus started out with genuine Beretta machinery and tools when they started making these.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/tracyballard01/detail?.dir=/f92are2&.dnm=727cre2.jpg&.src=ph
