I think they were always nice looking cars. In that price range, I guess all that's left is the Mustang?

Alan mentioned earlier (http://www.familyfriendsfirearms.com/cgi-bin/fff/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=18&t=000029&counterhit=yes) that they were thinking about dropping it. I had hoped they would reconsider. They've threatened it for some time now.
*sigh* To a long time Camaro fan like myself it feels like another part of American slipping away. :(

Yeah, that's too bad, going the way of the T-bird, but with several dozen new types of SUVs around and everyone and their dog buying SUVs, SOMETHING has to give - there's only so many vehicles ppl need.
Hey, guys, change of topic - over at that GM site (specifically, from the Chevrolet site), I signed up to win the all expenses paid trip to the 2002 winter olympics in SLC, and I NEVER sign up for any prize or lottery ****. But this is a prize worth winning, to me. In fact, it's kind of a dream of mine, to attend the olypic games, and I have a particular fondness for the winter games, and so, since it may be 20 to 30 years or more before another winter games is held in the US, I have decided I REALLY want to go on an olypic/skiing vacation in SLC during these olympics and have been planning same. So far, none of my local friends have shown an interest in going with me, so if you share this dream and want to meet me there, let me know - hotels, cottages, B&Bs, rent houses, etc., are booking up FAST, so I need to reserve something.

As I said in my original post, I wouldn't buy one now because the body doesn't bend the same way at 40 as it did at 20 but it sure is a shame not to have them around. That was my very first car and I drove it for several years and put nearly 100,000 miles on it.

As an owner (yes, I have the title) of an F-body.. all I have to say is this:
Gunslinger: I'm very disappointed.. a camaro....and I thought you had taste (inside grin on this one... as any F-Body owner would know).
1992.. the last of the greats. After 1992, the big butted ones hit the market. Sure, the head lights and front end were Nice but the rear end looked as if it was... well, let's not go there.
The Air Ram and some of the others have some nice lines, until you get past the doors. What the heck where they thinking... and as such, I think that's why they don't sell anymore.
One good thing about this... all "factory parts only available through a dealer" will be sold in bulk to cheaper stores. Heck, paying 30 dollars per center insert (on the rims) and then 5 bucks for the stick on insert was ****. Now, I will be able to hit potholes and not worry about spending a fortune on center caps.
I do hate to see them go.. even the camaro's. But now days, all the people want is little puddle cars that get 10000000000 miles to the gallon and they don't have the balls to open up anything over 33 miles per hour.
(1992, bored out jets, super chip, nice tires... 178 miles per hour baby... and she cornered like a dream) But, I did get the posi option and a few more treats.
