Thanks Tony for letting us know. Maybe we all need to contact our congressmen and let them know what we expect.

I hope a couple of the lawyers on our forum check these out and report a yea or nay on whether we should support it.

The whole idea strikes me as silly. Also sorry that it should even be considered.

Tough call. Another states rights issue where we are enticed by a result we like.

This bill merely addresses the suspension of rights and freedoms which lawfully accompany a declaration of "State of Emergency" and/or "Martial Law." Under those provisions, we, in reality, give up a great many rights. This bill suggests the 2nd Amendment is not one of them. It is, IMO, a good thing.

Who said the 2nd applies to the states?

These rights have become applicable to states through the 14th Amendment as well as state constitutions, via their ratification as part and parcel to the Constitution. ;)

Never been so held for the Second. No emanations from the penumbra.
I shall wait for an activist judge to limit states rights again on this issue.
I guess I should become a Democrat.
