2 water tanks to aid crossers vandalized

advertisementBISBEE — Someone vandalized two water stations set up by a humanitarian group that is trying to prevent deaths among illegal immigrants crossing the desert, a group volunteer said.
Two 55-gallon water tanks east of Naco were poked full of holes during the holiday weekend and thrown over a border fence into Mexico, said Humane Borders volunteer Marilyn Jones. The tanks' spigots were stolen, as was the station's 30-foot flagpole, which is topped with a blue flag to alert migrants to the location.
A flagpole at the second station was bent and the spigots were stolen from its two water tanks.
Jones said she had encountered sabotage at the stations before, but that normally, vandals simply drain the tanks. She said that any attack on the stations is hurtful.
"It makes me feel like somebody wants people to die before they want them to have a drink of water," she said.
Tucson-based Humane Borders maintains several water stations along different areas of the Arizona-Mexico border, the busiest illegal entry point on the nation's southern border. The stations are meant to prevent dehydration among illegal entrants crossing the Arizona desert from Mexico.

If the government won't, the people will.

They should be glad that the water caches were not treated with something that would force the illegals to give themselves up. Several compounds come to mind. Not fatal mind you...unless you insist on going untreated in that heat.

As I recall, privately owned supressed firearms are legal to own in Arizona :) :PProbably true. But I would first suspect a pickaxe. Crude but VERY effective at poking holes in drums.

Maybe it is true that border patrols are telling mexican authorities where Minute Men are going to be. If I were the illegals I wouldn't worry, CEO'S have alot of drums.

Yes it is true they are reporting that and alot more to Mexico. ALIPAC has come across information from the boarder patrol were they (American government) have allowed the Mexican consulate to move their opperation into the boarder patrol office building. Giving them their own offices and allowing them to oversee all patrol operations to insure the illegal's get treated "humanly".

Apparently they have these water and food stations in alot of places around the boarder..... The areas that have them, turn into dump sites. Clothes, empty water containers, you name it, all left thrown all over the desert by the illegal's who come threw there.

When they do not find watering stations, they tresspass onto others property. Cutting cattle fencing all over the place. Help themselves to the cattles watering trofs. Bathing in them and leaving them filled with soap. Leaving their trash, clothes and other items strewn all over the property. And it is fairly common for a rancher to also find his cattle slaughtered by the illegals when they decided they want a steak dinner.

The ranchers cannot even go out on their land without carrying guns for protection. Home invasion has also taken place. Ranchers are being driven off their own land. Some of which have been there for generations. It is very sad.
