When I saw your name I thought of Jack Nicholson and the movie The Shinning!

MontanaDownUnder,
It is a Springfield Loaded in .45ACP. Got it on the 11th and by the 29th it was on it's way back to SA. FTE problems big time. Since it was under warrenty it went back from whence it came! It is my first 1911 and for the little time that I had it I loved shooting it. I am looking at another SA 1911 the fullsize Loaded Operator. My gun guy tried to find one for me but his distributers ran out and SA said that they would not be making any more until Sept. I did find one in another shop in town...we only have 2 shops that I know of. I have been trying to keep out of the shop for fear of breaking down and getting it. I am new to the whole handgun obsession...and it is an obsession. In this "wonderful" commonwealth you can only purchase 1 handgun every 30 days...what a major bummer. I would like to get into defensive pistol competitions but am not sure what would be a good choice of weapons. I figured that I could not go wrong with the SA 1911 .45ACP, but do I get another 1911 type in 9mm or a non-fullsize in 9mm or 45ACP? Decisions, decisions!

As to the Redrum...yes it is from the shining. It was the userid of my best friend that is no longer with us. We went through college together...long long ago. I use it now to remember him by.

Back to a more pleasant subject...I also have a Ruger GP100 that I love to shoot, but the trigger is so strong that I do not think that I could use it in competition and do well...What do you think? I have changed the grips to Hogue Rubber since takeing this photo, and it feels more comfortable to hold.
