Hello, I'm looking for suggestions on an "alias" to use when I start CAS. Have begun acquiring necessary items, purchased rifle & 1 pistol (waiting for delivery) have deposit on shotgun, still looking for 2nd pistol, need leather (holsters, cart. belt, etc.) have enough Civil War period clothing to get by while starting out but I'm at a loss trying to think of an appropriate moniker so your help is most welcome, just keep it clean lol, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Johnny Ringo, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, All names of historical figures of the old west period would be classified as Protected Alias's and Not Allowed under SASS rules. In the early days of SASS before this rule was passed a couple of the founders took the Alias's of U.S. Grant and Judge Roy Bean. now such alias's aren't allowed. However you could put a twist on an actual name of a historic figure and maybe get away with it unless the alias has allready been taken. There is a "Wyatt Burp" for example and a whole lot of Variations of Doc. I would imagine that the name of Duke or John Wayne would also fall into the protected Alias category. A lot of the hombre's in SASS will come up with a name and place a military rank in front of it, There are a lot of Colonels in SASS. Another Idea is to take a place name from your local geography or from the geography of the Western States and add it to your alias. One way of insuring that you will come up with a unique alias if you're using a place name is to pick a rather obscure place name. This is what I did when I came up with my Alias of "Fightin Creek Slim" There were allready a whole bunch of folks using "Slim"as part of their Alias. So I took a local place name Fightin Creek which is a place over on the Coeur' D Alene Indian reservation. An area where I spend a lot of my spare time and tacked Slim onto it creating a unique alias. Use your imagination when coming up with your alias as you'll carry this alias throughout your SASS career unless you pay for an Alias change, Some people have done this later on after joining SASS and deciding that they didn't care for the first Alias that they chose Choose an alias that you can shape around the character of your chosen personna. Since my CAS Personna is a composite of several individuals some of them ancestors some fictional and some of them historic I chose not to give the character an actual christian name.
