I don't think I mentioned it...

But I just picked up my "new" P.08 Luger. It's not a "collectable" but it's mine and it looks neat. I haven't fired it yet (I expect something to be broken on it) and the grips need to be replaced. All serials match except for the mag... but, hey, I can find it. The gun is about 90% (85% at worse) so I don't think I got cheated. The holster isn't good enough to use but makes a great storage area so the gun isn't messed up (and it's a genuine one too). Not to brag but.. well why the heck not :D.

Oh, an idea for the new FFF when it comes up... put in a "bragging box" section... so we who buy or obtain anything can brag about it... even if it's a POS...

I've got a Luger, I've got a Luger, nah nah nah nah nah.. :D :D :D :D :D

That's it USP. You owe me a new keyboard! This one now has drool all over it. ;)

Yes, please post a pick if possible. I'd love to see it. Wish you were coming with it to EOSMII. :(

USP - I thought I read somewhere (keep in mind I'm Clueless) that you shouldn't store a firearm in a leather holster; something about moisture, etc., messing up the gun. Anyone else have any info?

Luger, ehhh? What make? Caliber? I have two, both 1917 dates, the 4" is all matching except for the mags (and I don't ever expect to match them up) and the artillery (Erfert) has the top half all matching and the bottom half all matching but not each other. I really don't expect to correct that problem. The serial # on the snail drum magazine does not match either of the pistols.

CiC: I bought some of those storage bag thingies that keep the moisture and such off the pistol. The holster is big enough so everything fit into it.

Jim V: As I said.. not a collectable. It's a 1923 Commercial and it's in the original .30 luger that Luger created. I wanted the 1913 9mm with real German holster (It had all the markings and such) but it was out of my reach (money wise). I've ALWAYS wanted a Luger.. I just thought they looked "neat" and such. The "safe" is in German as is the load indicator. It was "just one of the guns that I liked in movies and design" purchase. I've decided to go from just buying inexpensive guns just because (I can) and saving to get things much "neater". My next "kinda within my pay rate" purchase is going to be a FN/FAL in .308. After that, I am going to try for one of the "Big Boys"... a class III. I haven't decided which one yet.. but it's going to be 2G's plus most likely.

GunSlinger: Hey, I haven't given up yet... it's still three months (give or take a few days). I've been playing the "lotto" so you never know ;). No, I've been trying to find a way in reality to get there. But, if'n I don't... There will be next year... right?

I do think that a "bragging" box will be a good idea for the New FFF. Everyone likes to brag a bit here and there and they can brag about things other then new purchases... like hitting the X at 300000000 yards (with pictures).

To all: I don't have my digicam here :(. It's with my friend in Idaho (along with most of my stuff). But I'll try to find one to post a pic.

I've been wanting a P-08 for awhile. There is this guy at most of the Nashville shows that has a crate of frankensteins. I don't care abut all matching #'s, I just want it to go bang. :D

Hiya Tony! :p Don't think I've met you before, welcome to FFF!

(We really do need those "custom names" we had with Ezboards, too many people are starting to have similar names on this board...)

You guys can keep your Lugers. Know what I want? A Lahti pistol, NIB. (As a shooter, not as a part of a collection... ) Finnish made handgun: yeah baby, yeah! :D

(No chance I'd ever get one though. If nothing else, Finnish gun collectors would probably kill me if I'd fire even one round through a mint condition Lahti.)

Of course, I'd settle for a Mauser Broomhandle too... A fully automatic one, of course. ;)
