I went to the range a couple days ago and had an odd jam that I've never had before. Using my usual carry gun (Kel Tec P11) I was firing my first string and at magazine change had the first round from the new magazine jam. Slide closed to about 1/4" from being completly closed. Racked the slide to try the next round and same thing again. Dumped the gun and shifted to a Kel Tec P3AT from a pocket holster from my off (left) side and continued. I didn't do to well either darn it.
I got home took the gun apart and found a small piece of lint from my pocket pushed into the front of the chamber. There was no way of clearing this in time to do me any good. How many people carry their spare magazine in a pocket like me? 11 rounds of 9MM should fix most problems but you never know.
This has made me very happy that I've started to carry my P3AT in a pocket holster in addition to my usual carry. I'll also practice dumping the primary gun and shifting to offhand backup. I've discovered I really need the practice doing that.

A good example of why we need mag pouches. Lint is the major culprit of concealed carry! Gets in pocket guns, gets in mags, gets in ammo, gets in the way. Get a good holster and mag pouch. Check them often. Check ammo and weapon every time you put it on.
Good idea to practice with your backup gun too. Fastest reload is a second gun.

I do....however I use a Desantis Mag Packer to keep debris out of the magazine.

Clean Your Pockets! Routinely turn them inside out when you put the pants in the washer. Lint problem gone.
