Wow what a difference a year makes,
It was a year ago today that I flew on a KC-135R for a maintenance problem and we overflew Baghdad. Last year today my day started with me getting up, getting dressed for work, walking to eat breakfast then catching a bus to work. Half way through the shift I climbed aboard a KC-135R for a combat mission where we refueled a RC-135 and a KC-10 over Iraq. We flew up the gulf, and when we got over Baghdad, the Co-Pilot got out of his seat to let me sit and look out over Baghdad. We continued past and over one of the huge inland lakes to the west and then back to the Air Base. It was nice and warm, I think the highs were in the 80's and the typical desert moomscape to look at.
I completed the mission, and then finished my shift by launching out another jet. After work, I went and finished off my daily ration of beer for the day, a whopping 3 beers!
Today I got up, looked at my new online college class starting on Monday, cleaned the basement up. I played with my daughter for a little bit, and we went grocery shopping here on base. My wife has a Pampered Chef party tonight, so I am getting ready to be banished to the basement for the evening! Today the high is in the 30's, snow blankets the ground and we have a nice winter landscape to look at.

The only reason why I remember any of it is that it was St. Patrick's day. I am married to a beautiful woman that is descended from a broad range of Northern European ancestery to include German, Irish, Scotch, Bourbon.. It sucks because I always get pinched (she waits until I am not wearing green) and she claims that I can't pinch her because she is Irish!

Anyhoo, from a Norvgien-German guy that is married to Irish Lass..
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
