The manual for the CZ52 lists both 7.65x25 and 9mm as calibers, with just a change in barrel (I assume magazine as well). Has anybody seen or heard of a 9mm barrel for the CZ52? Since I read this I've checked gunbroker.com a couple of times and not found anything.

Thanks, Bob, I've been there before but I was hoping that there may be another source currently. I will jump on that offer as soon as they are available if nothing else shows up.

I have a CZ52 on order right now and I've been doing some research on them. From what I can tell the 9mm barrel can often create feeding problems. The barrels seem to be hard to find and cost as much as the gun in many instances. I'll be leaving mine in 7.62x25 unless I find a good deal on a 9mm barrel. I haven't found anything on using different mags though so I think just a barrel swap should do it if you're fortunate enough to find one.

Isn't the 7.62X25 about equal to the .30 cal. Carbine? ;)

I've had a 52 with spare 9mm barrell for several years. The original magazine does work fine with mine (although I've heard some do have problems) it does have some feeding problems maybe one ftf out of about every two mags. The only real problem with these is that its rollers are not real great, and tend to go out of round. I replaced mine and probably have over 2,000 rounds through it. I must admit its nice to plink with and 9mm ammo is cheap and readily available, but its very tame compared to the original 7,62x25mm.

I'm not real knowledgeable about the .30 carbine but the 7.62x25 can have velocities of 1600 fps and up.

The 7.62 is an almost duplicate of the 30 Mauser (think Broomhandle Mauser, .30 Luger). Much higher pressure and velocity than the 30 US Carbine.
