Bought a '43 Izzy from a guy on The Guns Network.
Rifle, Bayo, Sling for $85 shipped priority. Bore is very nice, floorplate is forced, but everything else matches.

You get the opportunity to spear that many deer, out your ways, do you? :P

That spear's not for deer - it's for Nazi's! ;)
I can't help buying these old rifles when I see a deal, they're so much fun.
I've had carbines, but this is my first 91/30, can't wait to try it out.

They're alot of fun. They aren't the flame thrower the carbines are and the kick isn't as bad. Considering the finish etc they are very accurate too.

That's not a bayonet, it is a range estimation and sighting device. Lean forward till it touches your adversary, then squeeze the trigger!

My son prefers the m44 carbine and I prefer my 91-30. Both very nice guns.
I keep meaning to get one or two of the 91/30s that ORF currently has for a good deal.
If you are a member of the AK Forums, you can get in on their group buy.
Current prices are 62.95 for the solid wood and 69.95 for the laminates with the sling/accessories. I don't think they have much of a selection left now though.

Very nice. I have a number of Mosins. 91-30, 38, 44 and 91-59.
I particularly like the 91-59.
They do wake up your range mates.

And the M44 too!
I also shoot a Romak 3/PSL that takes the 7.62x54R round as well but its a semiautomatic based upon a heavily beefed up AKM action.
When I decide to rip off 10 rounds as fast as I can pull the trigger, it seems that the rest of the range gets all quiet and watches me. :)
Its a fun gun.

I'd love to have an SVT-40, or a Romak/Dragunov type rifle. I just can't justify spending that much. Wish I would have bought one 10 years ago.
That 91/30 I bought is a good rifle. I actually hit the target at 100 yards. Granted, it was a big target.......;)

I like the M91/30's too I've got a couple of them, A 1944 IZZY and a Tula made prewar rifle. I only paid $35.00 for that Izzy before they became popular in this country and since I've had it I've put over 1000 lbs of meat in the freezer with it. Not bad for a thirtyfive dollar rifle.
That Romak of Bobotech's with its muzzlebrake is a lot louder than either of my M91/30's

Strangely enough there was one in the rack when I went to the gun store this evening.
$900 - I just can't do it.:(
It was very cool though.
