handguns and airlines ??

I know that the ultimate decision is mine, and I know what the relative laws are. I'm going to fly to see my mother for a few days, and wonder if taking my handgun (my CCW permit is valid at my destination) is just more "hassle" than it's worth. If I take it, it will be in a Pelican hard case with 2 large Master locks. I'll only be gone three days. Any opinions?

Jay, I fly quite frequently and have no problems. Figure an additional 5-10 minutes (to be safe) to your airport time.

My son does it regularly. Says it's no problem, as long as it's done right.

Be careful about different CCW rules where you're going, even if reciprocity does exist. Got to know THEIR rules.

Very true, eljay. I've learned the best travel rule is this: Always keep it concealed until needed and draw and shoot ONLY to protect your life or the life of a member of your party.

Well, now I'm leaning a bit more towards taking it. Thanks for the replies.
