I'm looking to get a new gun for ccw. My 1911 is my primary carry gun, it's a kimber compact CDP. I was thinking about getting the ultra CDP but figured it would be to hard to conceal both of them. What do you think? Should I go with something smaller or mid-sized? Or should I just walk around with my 870 straped on me and use my 1911 as a back up?

Glock's compact models are great backup/CCW pieces. If your primary is a 45ACP, you might as well stay with that. How about a Glock 36?

When you look in any dictionary under 'back-up gun', you see some sort of J-frame pictured there. :D :)

...and it is because of this that you need a backup. ;)
To me it would be hard to beat a little 5 shot .38 ( hammerless) snubbie in that situation. Not complicated, you don't have to "make" any grip safeties etc just pull the trigger in any position and **it happens. We're talking close quarters here right?
