I was listening to C-Span Book TV yesterday LA Book Fair and this liberal women was speaking about a soldier who applied for Consensus Objector status in Iraq. He refused to load his weapon and said he could not kill anyone. Well this lady was basically saying we should feel sorry for this guy and support him.
I could see her point IF THE GUY WAS DRAFTED!
I mean what was this guy thinking? That he joined the campfire army. We just go to the field and live in tents for the fun of it. I mean wouldn’t you think during basic combat training he would ask the DI, “Ah what’s this rifle and bayonet for?”
A soldier’s job is to kill the enemy period. Yes you do get some benefits, you’re not going to get rich but you get paid well.
I think this guy just wanted a free ride. If it was up to me I would drum him out of the service, bad conduct discharge, and garnish is paychecks until he pays back the thousands of taxpayer dollars it cost to train him.
Or am I wrong in this logic because I’m a Christian gun owning hick who lives in flyover country?
