Bought two Remington 550 bonus ammo packs at Walmart tonight for under $14.00 each. There were 12 boxes on the shelf; asked the clerk how many I was allowed to buy. She looked at me a bit funny and said I could have as many as I could afford. Started to buy more, but don't really have the need, so I stuck with just the two. I did notice that Walmart had numerous boxes of 9mm, .40s&w and .45acp on the shelf. Didn't check out the rifle ammo, as I tend to buy that elsewhere. They did seem to have quite a bit of ammo on the shelves tonight. Clerk said they always keep a good stock on-hand.

Same here in Walmart. Did find a boat load of 22LR at ATWOODS though, if you have one of those. I bought 20 boxes of 50.:D

Blammer, I'm just adding to the stock right now. I have plenty of .22 ammo already in storage. Just grab a couple boxes when I see them to add to the pile.

Except for all the wonderful things nobody needs of course! Ours has a great sporting goods department though, depends on store location I believe.

I spoke with the manager of sporting goods in Owasso and he said its the supplier, they've been on back order for common ammo since that bill idea about the 5 cent tax on ammo. He told me to check every couple days about 8 in the evening that's when they put out any new stock they have on ammo. Hope that can help you a little.

Seems like I can never afford more than a brick at a time. Two bricks a year for me and four more to spread among the grandkids.

Was in the Buda, Tx. Cabelas today. They had a 2 box limit on ammo. They did have bulk ammo in several calibers. They seemed to have a lot of .223 in stock, almost no .357 magnum, no 9mm that I could find; and I didn't find any .45acp.

Same at the walmart where I work. No handgun rounds at all, no 22s. They got in a case of frderal 22LRHP bricks Sun, my favorite, and they were gone almost immediately. I've waited for months to buy a brick. People are even desperate enough to buy the remmies. POWDERMAN. :(:(

The Wally Worlds north of Little Rock have NO 22's, the guy behind the counter told me to be there at 7:00AM when the ammo is unloaded and I was limited to 2 boxes.. Where I can find them the FED 525 brick is $29.00, before tax. I had a friend that came up from Texas bring me (3) bricks of Fed. 525 for $30 a brick....
I watched a guy at Gander Mt. cut a check for ~$136 for (3) boxes of Wolf .45....... Then ask the bguy when they are going to get more in...

www.midwayusa.com (http://www.midwayusa.com) and Natchess Shooter's Supply are both really great about sending you an e-mail when stuff comes in. You can click the i-con to be alerted when it comes in and they do it. You list how much you want and they will reserve that for you for a day or two. I had been waiting for 9 or 10 months for Federal Auto Match .22 lr (thats my favorite because it shoots great in everything, rifles and pistols of all types) And in about a week apart they both e-mailed me. I had forgotten about it and thought it would never come in, but I got 25 cases from Midway and 15 cases of bricks from Natchess. As much as we shoot it won't last as long as you think.

Thanks a lot. I will bookmark that and keep it in mind if I run into this in the future, only prob is the hazardous material charge. Thanks again though for your help.
