I've had one of these for several weeks now and once again I'm positively impressed by the quality of Kimber's 9mm 1911 style pistols, particularly the smaller bull-barreled Ultras and Pros. This new one has fired 500 rounds flawlessly with great accuracy and from a gun that is beautiful (to me) and which is ergonamic both in my IWB holster and in my hand. Out of the box it came with a great tigger! Thumbs up for Kimber! Dennis

I have a Kimber Ultra CDP and a Kimber Compact CDP - both in .45 ACP. I really like the both of them and they have proven reliable. The Compact is my usual carry gun.
I'd love to test out a 9mm in an Ultra configuration.

I didn't know that they made the CDP in 9mm. Do they make them in the .40S&W? Got a linkie?

Never mind. I found the page (http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/cdp/ultra_cdp_II/157/). Very nice. Too bad they don't offer the Compact in other calibers.

Yeah, I'd like to have a Compact CDP chambered in 38 Super.

Kimber seems to insist on using all-steel full size models only for both .38 super and 10mm.

I believe all three sizes of the SIS p.45 ACP Kimbers are all steel and I think there's a second all steel set of .45 models but I forget the model name. Dennis

I have a CDP II Compact in .45 and have no complaints, it's my favorite gun. I'm kind of wondering though about the pros and cons of it's external extracter. Anyone?

DennisE, I have a ProCarry II in 9mm (traded a Sig 229 for it) and it has proven to be very accurate and reliable, with MetalForm Springfield ramp mags. It's not as handsome as the CDP but is growing on me.
I am very pleased with the Kimbers. I have several but my favorites include a ProCarry (pre-Series II) in 40 S&W and an all steel compact pre-Series II, which is a Custom Shop limited edition Covert .45 ACP and which is my regular carry gun.
