Ate my first Fried Twinkie...

having seen it featured on the Food Network, thought I'd give it a try at a local festival. What did it look like? A Twinkie on steroids because it puffed up three times it's original size. Was it what I expected? No. Can't understand what all the hype was about. Would I recommend it? Only if it's something to satisfy your curiousity! Do I want to add them to my list of favorite snacks/desserts? No!

For me, Fried Twinkies fall under "Been there, tried that, once is enough". :D

Why would any one want to ruin something as good as a Twinkie.:D:D:D

Mom, did you fry 'em over easy or sunny side up? Makes a difference, ya know...:D

Personally, I mash a whole box of Twinkies into a can of lard and then eat 'em with a spoon. And then I grab my heart and fall to the floor gasping for breath. If I survive, then I go for the peanut butter and ice cream sandwhich, fried of course. It's a good life til it ain't...

Ain't gonna happen. Folks, you just have to "draw the line" somewhere.

Well, darn it, Flash. Just about the time I believe that I've tasted every worthwhile culinary delight, you mention "fried peanut butter & ice cream sandwiches". :rotf:

Mom, I tried one last fall for the same reason you did...and came to the same conclusion!
I tried a bite of somebody else's fried Oreo...same deal.
This year I saw people eating chocolate covered ice cream with bacon pieces in it (called ChocoPigs)...I'm sure it would satisfy the salty/sweet thing, but I think I'll pass on trying that one! :p

Or how a Drunk Ex-SFcop & Supervisor got off with a Voluntary Manslaughter conviction for offing San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and a gay supervisor named Harvy Milk. = If he'd been eating FRIED junkfood, he'd have beat the rap entirely:P:psycho::rolleyes::neer::irk::neer:
And THAT Boys & Girls, is how we got DIANE FEINSTEIN in the senate!:P

I tried a deep fried snickers bar a while back. I will stick to the unfired snickers bar! Like Mom, i had to satisfy my curiosity!

Went to a Hooters while in Va Beach. One of their most popular appetizers are fried dill pickle chips. They're actually pretty good.

In one of the towns here in Texas at a cafe one of the favorites is chicken fried bacon. You can feel you arteries closing up at the mear mention of that one.

Not the same thing. Fried pickles are good, especially with ribs.

The most exotic food I'll eat is Lebanese food and that's actually pretty good for you. All this fried junk food sounds horrible and I usually love junk food.
