I have to make a rapid trip to central Texas and back, by pick-up truck, for a funeral. Likely beginning on Dec 20th, and being back in Indiana on Dec 23rd. Stopping only for gas and food. Will travel I65, I40, I30, and I35. Anybody bored ?

I won't be going that far north of Dallas on I35.

Louisville, Memphis, Little Rock, Texarkana, Dallas, then south to Austin. Going South out of Indiana to try and avoid potential winter weather.

Of course I won't be joining you, but I do pray you have a safe and uneventful trip. Is the funeral a family member? Friend? If you'd rather not say that is fine as well. Stay safe my friend.

My mother sustained a serious fall in May.... I brought her here to care for her, but she never recovered from it. She was 90, and passed away yesterday. I wasn't asking for anyone to come to the funeral, just share the ride. 22 hours straight at my age is gonna be interesting.

I've accepted the company of a gent that I shoot with, that also has relatives in the Central TX area. He's going to ride down with me and share some driving. The schedule has been moved up a couple of days, so a bit of the pressure is off. Now all that needs to happen, is for mother nature to bless us with decent driving conditions.

Jay, I'm sorry for your loss. Have a safe trip. I'm glad you found a driving companion; somehow I don't think my husband would approve of me going. :)
