Copenhagen had record snow during the global hoax convention and Cancun had record lows during that gathering. What can it possibly mean?

You could borrow some of ours. In Maine we've had less than an inch of snow and the temp hasn't dipped below zero at all yet.

Denver has had a very, very mild winter so far. Highs in the 40's and 50's. Lows just below freezing. We are usually either burried in snow, or frozen almost solid, by now. It's been warm enough, with so little snow, or other moisture, that a person here could start believing in global warming. Until they look to the mountains, where the snow just keeps piling up.
I worked all day today wearing just a light vest over my shirt and blue jeans. And for a bit, thought about loosing the vest.

Have had 50+" of snow in Dec.,a new record for the month and we still have 9 days to go with snow in the forecast almost every day. Temps have been in the teens or low 20's. Yesterday was the first day of winter and I'am already sick of it.

I thought it hilarious when they filmed that doomsday movie about global warming. They showed us cooking then freezing solid almost instantly. Covering his bases both ways so no matter what happens, he can say "I told you so". And don't forget to thank him for inventing the internet. What would have done without him???:psycho:

If you get rid of hyped and faked statistics, and look at actual warming trends, we are headed into a period similar to what we know today as the Renaissance. The warmer period provided for longer growing seasons, which allowed farms to be successful with fewer hands. This allowed people to spend time inventing and writing. Where would our sciences and technology be today if daVinci hadn't been blessed with that era's "global warming"?

I was listening to a talk show on the radio. The host had some Dr. perfessor guy talking. What he was talking about was the weather. He was sayin, the winters will get warmer, and wetter. Then, because of the adddl' wetter, you get more snow, which starts to accumulate from year to year, in turn, cools the surface temp of the earth down throwing the earth into a new ice age.

Earth's climate has never been static. I varies regularly with solar cycles. The computer models being used have never been accurate in looking ahead or looking back. This fails the basis test of science.
Here is a scientist who uses solar cycles and has been much more accurate in his predictions, including this cold spell when others were saying that English children would never see snow again. He is fun to listen to, worth the time.
"... Piers Corbyn, a little-known British meteorologist and astrophysicist who has a knack for correctly predicting weather changes. Indeed, as London’s Mayor Boris Johnson recently noted, “He seems to get it right about 85% of the time.”"

Thanks for posting that link. I'd heard that solar cycles drove the climate, but it's nice to see someone who's using that knowledge to predict the weather; I wish I could afford to buy the forecast for extreme events here in the states, that would be something to have.
For those who didn't check out the video, Piers Corbyn says that temperatures will continue to drop until about 2030 or so. Eat it, Al Gore.

In the 70's the tree huggers cried of the "Coming Ice Age". "Now they try to convince us of a Warming Crisis". Time magazine used the same cover, with different headlines, for both topics.

OK everyone. I ran a search of the Times website. It appears the first cover showing a coming Ice Age is fake. The Global Warming cover is real. I apologize for being taken in by this fakery.
The closest content I could find were these two issues: Dec. '73 (http://www.time.com/time/covers/0,16641,19731203,00.html) and Apr. '07 (http://www.time.com/time/covers/0,16641,20070409,00.html)
Again, I apologize for not being more diligent.
Machinist
01-01-2011, 09:19 PM
I sure don't see that an apology was called for. There is a lot of misinformation floating around and we all get fooled at times, including professionals who have a responsibility to be diligent. I know I have more than once, which is why I am a bit skeptical, though often not enough. The issue is certainly valid and this was probably created as a satire.
The first Earth Day in the early 1970s was to warn us about the imminent danger of global cooling and the coming ice age.
Where did you see this?
Wolfhunter
01-01-2011, 09:32 PM
Machinist, I received that GIF in a packet of emails debunking Global Warming, when I was working as an Environmental Specialist doing regulatory compliance work for a DOD contractor several years ago. The text files provided were accurate, and I just accepted the GIF as true also.

They may not have reused that exact cover picture but they certainly changed their position and did not explain why. They might as well have used it.
