You will not go wrong when purchasing a Remington 870 shotgun. I do not believe there is a superior pump action shotgun offered for sale today.

You might want to look at the 870 tactical in 20 guage. Much easier to control and very accurate. Very nice for walking the property at night.
Tact: Making someone feel at home when you wish they were. "The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them." Patrick Henry Our enemies have trained our teachers and professors. Our teachers have trained our children. "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. " Thomas Jefferson “If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams Gary |

Popeye & Nes are dead on. It is the benchmark for slide/pump action shotguns.

Remington (BIG GREEN) ran a full page color article in USA Today about three (3) weeks ago thanking everyone who has bought the 870 Model for putting it over the top of 10,000,000 guns manufactured.
I help that effort in 1972 with my purchase of a Wingmaster in the then recently new 3 inch 12 guage chambering in 30 inch vent ribbed Full Choke barrel. I bought a 26 inch vent ribbed barrel with Rem Chokes in 2000. There are many other very good to excellent makes of pump shotguns available today, but why bother? |
