Remington Model 341
I have a Remington model 341 that I got after my dad died many years ago and I was looking for the serial number so I could put that in my records. I was unable to find one anywhere so I looked at the Remington website. It looks like they might not have put a serial number on these rifles, based on what came up on the site:
Serial Number Blocks:Starting: N/A Ending: N/A Does anyone know if this is true, false, if false, where is it hiding? AMERICA HAS B.O.

I'm not positive but the serial # should either be on the barrel or under the stock.

Thanks Dave...I probably will have to take the stock off since it is not anywhere on the barrel, or anywhere else that is not covered by the stock. Had no problem finding the numbers on any of my other guns, either hand or rifle.

The Remington 341 does not have a serial number. It was built before 1968 when serial numbers became required. It does have a manufacture date code on the left side of the barrel above the wood in front of the receiver. Will most likely be a 2 letter code. The 341 was built between 1936-1940. Hope this helps.

Yep, that's what I was trying to verify...I was surprised at the age of it when I looked it up on Remington's site...it looks good for the age...and shoots great too.
Thanks for the info. AMERICA HAS B.O.

It is true that Remington serial numbered at least some of their rifles prior to 1968...I also have a Remington 1903-A3 which does have a serial number. I will check under the stock and see if it's there and then post a yea or nea...probably not tonight, but within a day or three.

Remington rimfire rifles were the last to be serial numbered.

As Popeye said Remington rimfires were the last to be serial numbered BUT Remington and Winchester routinely serialized one model rimfire and not another
Examples: Remington serialized Model 12 rimfires from inception but did not serialize Model 341's Winchester serialized ALL their pump rimfires but not their bolt Model 72's Only they know why... While the technician is more important than the technology it is good to remember that a 9mm might expand but a .45 won't shrink |

Winchester did not serialize the Model 69A bolt-action .22, either. I believe this model was produced from early 1940's thru about 1962 or 1964.

The remington 341 was one of the economy 22 rimfires the company put out. Prior to 1968 none of them were serial numbered just dated coded. These include the model 33, 34, 341, 41, 411, 510, 511, 512, and 514. Its all in Fjestad's Blue Book.

Well, I have the answer...I think. I took the stock off today and below and to the left of the rear sight, under the stock, there is a 5 digit number which I can only figure is the serial. If it's not, I have no idea what it might be.
Thanks all for the replies and thoughts on the subject. ....bill... AMERICA HAS B.O.
